The talk description follows: Win-Win Plant Consolidation through Kaizen StrategyMarty Lowry, Dir. of Operations - Wilson Greatbatch Technologies - Electrochem & Greg Hart, President - Hart Innovative SolutionsAfter acquiring a competitor, WGT Electrochem had two facilities with like processes. With a goal to create a center of excellence, WGT commenced plant consolidation. Cross-functional Kaizen teams leaned out the process in the recipient plant in Canton MA, to make space and improve efficiency. Then teams with members from both plants designed a lean process to transfer from NY to Canton using lean principles, prepared equipment to ship and supported installation.
